Our Mission: The mission of Billye Jones Consulting is to transform attitudes, belief systems, and organizational structures that perpetuate the cycle of child abuse, violence, and trauma. We place a special emphasis on addressing child sexual abuse and sexual violence. Sexual abuse and sexual violence remain the most pervasive and insidious forms of abuse, both in the United States and globally.
We work to address abuse and trauma in the following ways:
By providing individual therapy to adolescent and adult survivors of abuse and offering continuing education training and organizational consulting, on topics such as how to keep children safe, how to become a trauma-informed and trauma-responsive organization, and how to support trauma survivors in your organization.
We all strongly believe in abuse prevention and education, and we provide prevention workshops to parents, caregivers, and organizations. Additionally, Billye Jones has written a book—We Can Prevent Child Sexual Abuse: A Guide for Parents and Caregivers—that can be used as a prevention education tool, as a discussion guide, and as a resource to help parents if they suspect their child was abused.
In addition to our child sexual abuse and sexual abuse focus, Billye Jones Consulting seeks to expand the traditional definition of trauma to include environmental, organizational, and multi- and intergenerational trauma. With this goal in mind, we work to identify, prevent, intervene in, and treat trauma and abuse by building the capacity of individuals, communities, and organizations. If you want to know more about our work, please get in touch. We would love to discuss your needs with you.
